The International ICAO organized a series of conferences at the headquarters of the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (AESA), and CATEC was one of the aerospace sector entities invited, with Javier Garrido and Antidio Viguria participating in two of the round tables.
From 9 to 12 December, CATEC has organized at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Zagreb (Croatia), a Research Training course within the AeroSTREAM project (Strengthening Research and Innovation Excellence in Autonomous Aerial Systems), in which we are participating.
The Implementation and Monitoring Committee of the Futuretech_H2 project, led by the Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs (FEDEME), held on Wednesday 4th December, a new coordination meeting, in which CATEC was represented by our colleague Rocío Baya Arenas, Engineer of the Automation and Robotics Unit.
Last Thursday, 28th November, CATEC's facilities were visited by a group of 18 foreign journalists who visited Seville and its province as part of a press-trip of the Sevilla City One platform, which included a tour of the Aerópolis aerospace park.
Last September we attended the first evaluation campaign of the AIDEDex project, Artificial Intelligence for Explosive Device Detection project, in which CATEC is participating. The event, organised by the HITDOC project and attended by different consortia, took place at the FOI facilities in Grindsjön, Sweden.
On Thursday 21 November we held our 2nd Annual Conference on Technological Trends, which in this new edition focused on ‘Technologies and Opportunities in the Space Industry’.
The Advanced Centre for Aerospace Technologies (CATEC), together with the aeronautical engineering companies AERTEC and Pildo Labs and the University of Seville have successfully completed in Seville, in the context of the U-ELCOME project, a series of tests in a real environment aimed at demonstrating the feasibility of transporting goods, in this case medical cargo, over long distances using drones and UAS.
The general director of CATEC Joaquín Rodríguez Grau has participated in the event ‘NetCogisite24’, organized by the Official College of Industrial Technical Engineers of Seville (Cogitise); the VI edition of the largest meeting of Industrial Technical Engineering in southern Spain, which was held this year with the theme ‘Engineering, brain of Artificial Intelligence’.
