Last Friday, March 12, the Andalusian regional minister of Finance, Juan Bravo, together with the delegate of the Government of the Junta de Andalucia in Jaen, Maribel Lozano, visited the ATLAS Experimental Flight Center facilities in Villacarrillo. Accompanied by the managing director of FADA-CATEC, Joaquin Rodriguez, and the Head of the ATLAS Center, Francisco Alarcon, they saw first-hand the state-of-the-art infrastructures of a unique complex in Europe for testing and operations with unmanned aerial systems.
In a few days the ATLAS center will celebrate seven year from its opening, and along these years it has established itself as a benchmark flight center for drones, unmanned systems and High Altitude Pseudosatellites (HAPS), thanks to its excellent facilities and a segregated airspace of more than 1,000 square kilometers.
