The Implementation and Monitoring Committee of the FUTURETECH_H2 project, led by the Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs (FEDEME), held a new coordination meeting on Wednesday 17 December to discuss the latest progress and upcoming milestones in the development of this cross-border initiative, which is part of the 3rd Call for Proposals of the Interreg VI-A Spain-Portugal Cross-Border Cooperation Programme (POCTEP) 2021-2027.

Among the main topics discussed at the meeting, there was a sharing of information on various issues related to the different activities linked to the project, such as:

  • Activity 1: progress of the work carried out, beneficiaries selected for the services and review of the schedule and deliverables.
  • Activity 3: review of the training programme, analysis of questionnaires and reports, and completion of students’ qualifications.
  • Activity 4: planning of the Roadshow and the Hispano-Luso Forum, including locations, calendar and distribution of responsibilities.
  • Activity 6: review of the status of the communication obligations of each partner and the plan for transferring results.
  • Activity 5: budget details.

The meeting was attended by our colleague Rocío Baya Arenas, Engineer in the Automation and Robotics Unit.

This project is being carried out by a consortium made up of a total of six partners from the Alentejo (Portugal) and Andalusia (Advanced Centre for Aerospace Technologies-CATEC, Adral, Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, University of Évora, Nao Victoria Foundation and FEDEME) regions. and through it, it seeks to develop the green hydrogen value chain in this cross-border area, promoting and disseminating, through various planned actions, the virtues and capabilities of this energy vector as an industry of the future.

To contribute to all this, the FUTURETECH_H2 project includes a comprehensive calendar of actions to be carried out in different phases.

The project is co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain-Portugal Programme (POCTEP) 2021-2027, with a total budget of €1,366,564.9, and will run until 31 March 2026.
