From March 12 to 14, we have been able to participate in Malaga in another important event in our agenda, the Transfiere 2025 Forum. The event, which brought together 600 companies and 400 experts, turned Malaga into the European epicenter of technology transfer and innovation in R&D&I for three days. Our colleagues Paloma Vega, Eduardo Ferrera, Rocío Baya, Hugo S. Romero, Samuel Rivas, Mario Rueda and Javier Santaolaya travelled to Malaga, where they received many people interested in our technologies and projects at CATEC’s stand (A26).
During these three days, we were able to exchange knowledge and experience in innovation and create opportunities to continue promoting technological development. During the Forum we had the opportunity to meet with the other partners of the ECOAEO project, which we lead, to share experiences, establish new alliances and show the great potential of our innovation ecosystem in the aerospace sector.
Also our colleague Gracia Catalina Piñero participated on March 13 as moderator in the round table ‘New Startups for the New Space’, organized by the Ministry of University, Research and Innovation of the Junta de Andalucía, to which we are grateful for the invitation. During the same, Victor Moreno Campos (YNSAT), Jose Antonio Rebollo (Hisperion), Juan Andres Gomez Ortiz (Keeplerkoord), Jose Dario Sarmiento, (AGPhotonics) and Carlos Javier Martin Esteban (Orbital Boost Aerospace) addressed relevant challenges such as barriers to entry into the sector (certifications, initial investment, technology validation) and the importance of collaboration between companies, public agencies and research centers like ours. There was also space to discuss the growing concern about space debris, the relationship with the defense sector and internationalization opportunities.
The audience participated actively, commenting on questions about how startups can finance themselves in this competitive sector or how current regulation can boost or slow down this growth. The conclusion was unanimous: New Space is not only a sector on the rise, but a true “sector of sectors” full of possibilities for startups, driving companies and institutions.
Our colleagues Rocío Baya Arenas and Samuel Rivas Pavón were present at our stand during the last day, where technology was one of the main protagonists. It has certainly been a very enriching experience, which allows us to advance in the transfer of knowledge and generate key synergies for the development of R&D and innovation.
