Our centre held numerous meetings and established contacts with other research institutions and companies in order to explore possibilities for collaborating on R&D projects and initiatives

The city of Malaga hosted, during the 13th and 14th of February, the second edition of the Foro Transfiere, a meeting intended for combining the science and technology supply with the business demand and the new business opportunities in various strategic sectors of the Spanish economy. This was a meeting in which our centre was present again. CATEC, as it did in the previous edition of 2012, participated with the intention of showing its capabilities and main research lines to the research companies and groups present in the meeting and its wide range of technology services.

Our CEO, Juan Pedro Vela, held numerous meetings and established working contacts with other institutions and companies in order to explore possibilities for collaborating in R&D projects. Some companies showed great interest in CATEC’s infrastructure and capabilities. In this sense, it was also highlighted the agreement with the technology centres IAT, CITIC and CTAER in order to pool expertise and capabilities in the development of common initiatives.

Among the companies and organisations present in the meeting, there were technology centres and parks, universities, research groups, and companies and firms linked to different sectors. The meeting, Foro Transfiere, has strengthened itself in the event scene of the national technology sector, by achieving an increase of 15% compared to the 2012 edition. Overall, the meeting was attended by 1,500 participants, more than 200 companies and institutions, about 250 research groups, 50 Spanish universities, more than 1,600 profiles of technology supply and demand, and more than 2,700 working events and contacts.
