The Centre participates in four of the five aerospace projects being carried out in Andalusia related to the new incentive programme boosted by CDTI and Junta de Andalucía
The Centre for Advanced Aerospace Technologies (CATEC) has ratified its position as a leading entity for RD projects within the aerospace industry after confirming its participation in four new initiatives under the call of the ERDF-Innterconecta Programme. This new range of incentives is boosted by the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and the Regional Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Science and Employment of Junta de Andalucía, through the Agency of Innovation and Development of Andalusia IDEA.
CATEC participates in four of the five aerospace projects being carried out in Andalusia related to the R&D boosting. These initiatives will be developed in the most promising aerospace areas like new materials and manufacturing techniques, automation and improvement of aerospace assembly processes and electrical systems and testing.
Precisely, CATEC will participate in the projects DESAFIO (Development of Intelligent Rear Fuselage for Transport and Assistance Operations); ECLIPSE (Structures in Composites and Light Materials for Simple Assembly Processes), DIANNA (Development and Investigation of New Technologies for Aeronautical Assembly Processes Automation), and ODISEO (Projects of Development and Research within Electrical Systems). Airbus Military is the company coordinating and leading all these three-years-duration projects (2012-2014), already started.
The objective of ERDF-Innterconecta is to develop innovative technologies in economically and commercially promising areas at international level revealing a technological and industrial remarkable advance for Andalusia. The initiatives will be developed by groups of enterprises from three to ten, and the involvement of Research Public Organisms (OPI). The initiative will have a global investment of €100 millions for a total of 32 projects in a variety of strategic areas, which will mobilize a private investment above €275 millions.
