The event, held in Aerópolis, had the cooperation of our Center and in it the main challenges and trends of aircraft production in the coming years were addressed
More than 150 managers and professionals of the Andalusian and Spanish aerospace sector participated last March 10 in Aerópolis in the conference “Trends in production for the aerospace industry”, in which various experts and companies in the field of manufacturing and aeronautics analyzed the main challenges, trends and technologies related to the so-called “Factory of the Future”, as applied to manufacturing techniques in the industry.
The conference was organized by Interempresas Group, with the collaboration of our Center, Aerópolis, HÉLICE Cluster, and BIEMH, and was inaugurated by José María Asensio, Secretary General of Innovation, Industry and Energy of the Government of Andalusia. The event included various conferences and lectures in which were addressed key aspects facing manufacturing in the aerospace field, such as the automation of aeronautical processes using versatile robots, additive manufacturing (3D printing) systems for increased productivity in the aerospace industry, the challenges of aerospace industry in Andalusia and Spain, and new business niches of the current market.
CATEC presented the papers “Smart factory: Industrial Internet of Things and its application to the improved control and process monitoring”, by Antidio Viguria; “3D printing in the aerospace industry: Additive Manufacturing as an alternative to traditional manufacturing processes today and in the future”, by Fernando Lasagni; and “Automation of aeronautical manufacturing, assembly and inspection with versatile robots low cost”; in which he participated Raul Cano. Also, other speakers from leading companies such as Airbus Defence & Space and Aernnova participated in the conference.
The information day ended with a visit to the facilities of CATEC, where attendees could learn about some of these innovative technologies, watch demonstrations and visit its main infrastructures and laboratories.
