Our General Director, Joaquín Rodríguez, participated in a conference organized by MCA-UGT Andalucía, attended by over 100 people and a delegation of the German union IG Metall
Last June 15th the Digitization and Industry 4.0 Conference was held in Aerópolis, organized by the Andalucía Metal Union MCA UGT, in order to present the “Industry 4.0” initiative as an engine of modernization of all industries in Europe, like a roadmap, with success stories and benefits of the introduction of new technologies applied to this concept of advanced manufacturing. It also intended to publicize the momentum of Andalusian business network digitization.
The event, which was a collaboration between the German union IG Metall and the Hans Böckler foundation, was initiated by the Secretary of Employment of the Junta de Andalucía, Julio Coca, and included several conferences, including that put on by CATEC. Joaquín Rodríguez Grau, director of our Center, was responsible for exposing new technologies and lines of work, which our center has been driving in recent years to improve production processes and aircraft manufacturing through the concept of “Factory of the Future” or “Industry 4.0”. Since additive manufacturing (3D) and the automation of aeronautical processes to interconnected digital systems in factories or the Industrial Internet of Things.
The event was attended by some 120 professionals from Andalusian companies and entities in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, and steel, and looked at other presentations by Airbus Defense & Space, Alestis Aerospace, Atlantic Copper; the Andalusian Centre for Sustainable Construction Innovation and Evolved-EPC Tracker. The event culminated with a visit to the facilities of CATEC, in which a group of some 50 companies, including those responsible for the German union IG Metall, were able to visit the workshops of the Center and attend specific presentations on technological innovations of Industry 4.0 CATEC is developing.
