The Aerópolis Business Centre held last 30th June a seminar where more than 30 experts and technicians from aerospace and technological Andalusian companies got together and they analysed new technologies related to virtual simulation and development of new software solutions to be implanted in the aeronautical and aerospace industry.

This seminar, organized by Aerópolis in collaboration with Hélice Foundation, CATEC, Cartuja 93, the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the companies Altair and Besol, included several lecturers and speeches with the objective of share experiences and projects developed in the field of simulation and software applications that can improve the aeronautical sector.

Main technologies which are currently been carried out in the aeronautical sector with the objective of optimizing the analysis structures of planes, design or calculation of aeronautic pieces or improving engineering processes and production of new aircrafts were exposed.

The meeting had the participation of the scientific director of CATEC, Aníbal Ollero, who pointed out, when the seminar was inaugurated, that simulation and software as one of the main areas developed by the centre and which “although its youth, we are reaching important results and fulfilling our objectives”. By his side, Ismael Jiménez, engineer of the CATEC Simulation and Software Department, presented the technological capacities and scientific equipment which are put to companies’ disposal and also the most outstanding RDI initiatives currently developed by this area.
