On Wednesday, November 20, CATEC will be present at the II Congress of Artificial Intelligence of Andalusia, organized by the Junta de Andalucía at the Palacio de Congresos de Granada. We are invited to participate in a panel discussion on the applications of AI in robotics area.
The presentation will be given by Francisco Javier Pérez Grau, head of the Perception and AI Unit at CATEC, who will give the paper Intelligent aerial robotics: AI-powered drones to detail, in particular, the use cases of research projects where we have worked or are working in CATEC, applying AI-based solutions.
As he explains, “AI allows us to expand the capabilities of drones in terms of autonomous navigation, to fly more safely and efficiently in complex environments; perception and recognition of objects, to understand the world around them, and in planning and decision making, to achieve mission objectives”. We will also talk about environmental, security and infrastructure inspection applications.
The Artificial Intelligence Congress of Andalusia: Talking About Artificial Intelligence (TAI), takes place on November 19, 20 and 21 at the Palacio de Congresos de Granada. Over the course of three days, experts from different areas will delve into all the key aspects of this technology that has revolutionized our lives and is already being applied in different fields. This edition will deal especially with the application of AI in the areas of Defense, Culture and Sport. Among the speakers, the former minister Pedro Duque, astronaut and president of Hispasat; Jon Hernández, AI disseminator on YouTube; and Marcos Vázquez as creator of the ‘Intelligent Life’ project, which tries to apply the basic concepts of AI to real life.
