The VENTURI project has successfully passed its second milestone, consolidating a new step towards more efficient and sustainable aviation. The validation day was held on 9 July 2025 at the facilities of the Advanced Centre for Aerospace Technologies (CATEC), with the active participation of representatives from the three companies and the technology centre that make up the consortium: Integración Tecnológica Empresarial (ITE), Surcontrol, INESOPTICS (IOVI) and CATEC.

Gonzalo Díaz and Rafael Luque attended on behalf of CATEC.

During the session, the technical and economic advances achieved over the last year were presented to the CDTI (Centre for Technological Development and Innovation). The validation of the milestone not only marks the rigorous compliance with the project schedule, but also represents key institutional and technical support for an initiative that is committed to the automation of critical processes in aeronautical manufacturing to optimise laminar flow and reduce emissions, noise and energy consumption. The success of the second milestone has also been a reflection of the climate of collaboration between the teams that make up the consortium.

VENTURI is an industrial research project funded by the CDTI and co-funded by the European Union (Next Generation) and the Spanish Government (Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan PRTR); which aims to develop advanced solutions to improve the efficiency of aircraft aerodynamic contours, especially in critical areas where discontinuities occur in the assembly, known as Step & Gap, which directly affect laminar flow and cause friction, noise and increased energy consumption.

At CATEC, we are proud to have hosted this fruitful event for everyone.
