Hannover Messe, Civil Dron 2019, the Spanish Engineering Summit or an EASA seminar in Peru were some of the most outstanding meetings attended by CATEC
Our Centre has developed in recent weeks an intense agenda attending and participating in different events, fairs and conferences linked to national and international technology sector, in order to strengthen and expand relationships and partnerships with other key actors and entities that work in this field. Thus, we have recently participated in the Hannover Messe fair in Germany, one of the largest industrial events in the world, where we have presented our AEROX drone, and we have shown practical demonstrations of how industrial inspection is carried out by contacting this drone, thanks to the collaboration of our partners Tuv Nord and Sensima in the AEROARMS project.
We have also participated in the CORUS U-Space workshop (Concept of Operations for European UTM Systems), organized by Eurocontrol and SESAR, where we have learned about the latest advances and aspects on the future integration of drones in European airspace. Our presence at the workshop on regulation and safety of drone operations that was held at the end of February in Lima (Peru), organized by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and with the attendance of more than 100 experts from 25 countries, was also very important. Our colleague Antidio Viguria, Head of Avionics & Systems Division, was in charge of participating, presenting the experience of CATEC in standardization and technological development in drones.
Civil Drone Congress and more
Other important events attended were the Civil Drone Congress 2019, where we participated in the panel on Traffic Management of Unmanned Aircraft Systems and in a presentation of the PANDORA project ( Air-ground platform with autonomous navigation to capture reality and its application to construction), and at the conference “Metal Additive Manufacturing Challenges & Opportunities”, belonging to the ADDISPACE project, where experts from Spain, France and Portugal presented the latest opportunities in Metal Additive Manufacturing for the aerospace sector.
Likewise, CATEC collaborated with the Spanish Engineering and Business Summit 2019, organized by the Andalusian Higher Engineering Association (ASIAN) and the conference “Cervera Transfer: R&D funding and opportunities in Andalusia”, organized by ZABALA Innovation Consulting.
