On 11 March 2026, the partners of the FUTURETECH_H2 project, in which CATEC is participating, held a meeting of the Implementation and Monitoring Committee at the Sines Arts Centre (Portugal). The session took place whilst the Spanish and Portuguese partners were in town, following the 1st Spanish-Portuguese Green Hydrogen Forum, which brought the project’s recent public activities to a close.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the overall progress of the project’s various activities, the training provided, dissemination and cooperation initiatives, communication obligations, the outcomes of the different stages of the Cross-Border Roadshow, and the webinar on real-world cases, challenges and opportunities held in Spain, as well as budgetary and administrative closure matters. The main milestones achieved and the steps planned for the completion of FUTURETECH_H2 were also shared.

This meeting, in which our colleague Rocío Baya Arenas participated, helped to strengthen coordination between the partners and reinforce the joint work carried out throughout the project, laying the foundations for its final phase.

Futuretech_H2: Promotion and Technological Development of the Green Hydrogen Industry

A total of six partners from the regions of Alentejo (Portugal) and Andalusia (Spain) form part of the consortium established in November 2023 to carry out the various activities under this project, which is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain –Portugal (POCTEP) 2021–2027 programme, which is now in its final phase.

Specifically, CATEC, ADRAL, the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, the University of Évora, the Nao Victoria Foundation and FEDEME (as lead partner) have been the organisations responsible for driving this project, which aims to develop the green hydrogen value chain in this cross-border area, promoting and raising awareness of the potential of this energy sector as an industry of the future.

Futuretech_H2 has a total budget of €1,366,564.90 and will run until 31 March 2026.
