CATEC, together with the company Sánchez Romero Carvajal and the Osborne Group, have successfully completed the IBERSPAIN project, which seeks to improve and transform the processes of handling, cutting and inspection of high quality meat products, with a commitment to more efficient, safe and sustainable production.

CATEC’s AI and Robotics Unit has carried out the handling, cutting and inspection of very high quality meat products, using its own robotic system, designed, tested and integrated by us against a highly dangerous cutting machine.

The project, framed within the PERTE Agroalimentario call, promoted by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, began in March 2023 and ended this June with very positive results, with the participation of a large team of professionals from the technology centre.

For CATEC, this is a new project as it is a new sector, such as the agri-food sector, in which we are opening up the market, and very strategic, as we are working hand in hand with companies such as Sánchez Romero Carvajal, a national benchmark for the sector in terms of both product and process quality. We are committed to promoting innovation in such an important sector for Andalusia with a company that is a symbol of quality within the sector.
