CATEC started manufacturing of composite material panels with a novel thermoplastic resin.
CATEC started manufacturing of composite material panels with Elium® matrix (Arkema, France). This novel thermoplastic resin not only has the typical advantages of this type of matrices (recyclability, possibility of thermoforming and welding), but it can also be processed by liquid route, through the same processes used with thermosetting matrices.
CATEC works with its injection system (ISOJET), which allows the application of different temperature conditions (up to 120 °C in the tank and injection circuit), pressure (up to 10 bar in the tank) and vacuum (up to 2 mbar). The system has a self-heating mold able to work at a pressure of up to 4 bars and a temperature of up to 220 °C. The tank has the capacity to inject up to 25 L of resin.
