Our colleague José Manuel González has traveled to Charlotte (USA) to attend the ICUAS (International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems) and present one of our latest contributions to the European project ‘Beeyonders’, where we tackle one of the most demanding environments for autonomous drone navigation: the interior of a tunnel under construction.

CATEC has participated this week in a debate on the challenges in automation and artificial intelligence in UAS operations at a conference in Madrid organized by the State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) and the Spanish Aerospace Technology Platform to analyze the state of technology, regulation and social acceptance of the drone sector.

The Advanced Centre for Aerospace Technologies (CATEC), together with the aeronautical engineering companies AERTEC and Pildo Labs and the University of Seville have successfully completed in Seville, in the context of the U-ELCOME project, a series of tests in a real environment aimed at demonstrating the feasibility of transporting goods, in this case medical cargo, over long distances using drones and UAS.
